During a recent Town Board meeting, Councilman Sean Edwards, a member of the local plumbing union had this to say, “If the proposal passes plumbers will be required to pay a $250 license fee, and may even be given a card with photo identification.” At which point, Supervisor Fred M. Newlin took a little jab, saying that “Lewiston is going to have to get some better-looking plumbers.” When after Councilman Alfonso J. Bax suggested the photo should have “a picture of the other end, since that’s the only end of a plumber you ever see.” Edwards smiled and laughed. “I’m sitting here with a police chief, a realtor and a lawyer,” he said, “but I still work with my hands and I’m proud of it.” Relax
