Harris® Brazing Filler Metal, 1/2 x 1/8 in Dia, 28 in Length, #28, Stick, Chemical Composition: 7.1% Phosphorus, Copper Balance and 0.15% Other, 1345 to 1500 deg F Brazing, Applicable Materials: Copper to Copper and Copper to brass

• Harris® Low cost alloy suitable for most copper-to-copper or brass joints where good fit-up exists and assemblies are not subject to excessive vibration nor movement
• This alloy flows quickly at brazing temperature so requires close joint tolerance, less than 0005 in is a frequent choice for copper brazing
• A suitable choice for brazing brass, operators should take care to avoid over heating the brass and use Harris® Stay-Silv® white brazing flux in this application
• Not recommended for brazing steel or other ferrous base metals, the phosphorus content will form a low ductility intermetallic with the base metal
• Corrosion resistance is generally similar to copper base metal, but phosphorus containing alloys, including Harris®, should not be used if the braze is exposed to sulfur or sulfur compounds in service
